Talkin’ Trails – Brown Bag Lunch & Education Program

One week from today we are hosting a brown bag lunch and education program. Join Brian “Fox” Ellis and Angela Funk for a guided hike at the Gudmundson Wildlife Sanctuary. In this immersive experience we will explore hike etiquette, the dynamics of being an engaging hike leader, and pick up some fun trail side story tellin’ ideas mixing botany, geology, birds, butterflies, tracks and whatever else we find along the trail. Join us if you want to go on a fun hike. Join us even if you have never led a nature hike but intend to and want to build skills and confidence. Join us even if you have led a hundred hikes but are looking for some new ideas.

Friday, April 5th at 11:30 a.m.

Pack a lunch or grab a sandwich on your way out! We’ll socialize and fuel up before heading out to explore the trails and property. We will also talk about volunteer opportunities with the Friends of the Sangamon Valley, Illinois Audubon Society, and Lincoln Memorial Garden.

Gudmundson Wildlife Sanctuary, 4506 Chinquipin Road, Springfield, IL. We’ll have a sign out at the end of the lane.
